2 men see sentences reduced for fatal car accidents

Two convicted Oklahoma drivers saw their sentences reduced on the same day after using the state's blind plea process. The sentence reductions happened in a Rogers County courtroom on April 21. One of the men had been sentenced to 20 years in prison for manslaughter in relation to a fatal drunk driving car accident. He had nine years of the sentence eliminated in a blind plea proceeding.

Oklahoma mother with 5 children in car accused of DUI

An Oklahoma mother is being accused of driving under the influence of an intoxicant stemming from a traffic stop made by Del City Police March 27. A police officer claims that when he stopped the woman, she seemed confused and disoriented. The officer administered a field sobriety test and judged that the woman was under the influence of an intoxicant, so he took her into custody. Charges against her include child endangerment and several charges related to DUI and improper driving.

Man is charged with DUI after falling asleep at wheel

Some readers from Oklahoma may have heard about the 36-year-old man recently detained on suspicion of DUI in Florida; the incident happened in Deltona around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31. A witness says that they called police after seeing the driver asleep in his car at the intersection of Courtland Boulevard and Doyle Road. The defendant was said to have been still holding a half-eaten burrito from Taco Bell when officers found him unconscious.

Woman charged with DUI following crash that killed 2

An alleged drunk driving incident that occurred north of Norman, Oklahoma, near Tinker Air Force Base on March 28 claimed two lives and left cars and debris scattered for nearly a hundred yards along the roadway, according to media sources. One member of the Oklahoma City Police Department said that the driver believed to have caused the fatal collision appeared to be intoxicated. She is now facing two counts of manslaughter in addition to charges of DUI and reckless driving.
